Yup that's very true! To be honest though when he arrived back at camp and we all took our turn to crawl underneath, it looked pretty neat to us and a top-class field fix with bags of strength to spare.
He'd also managed to loosen up the bush a bit... that's often not easy either @@
Jean-Luc was a shop-fitter... you should see the inside of his camper. Configurable storage depending on where they are going, how long away and what they'll be doing... there is not a cubic centimetre wasted. The Roof PV panel large enough to run the compressor fridge fully any time of year through a clever black box... that whole kit cost circa €1000 a good few years ago. Tdi conversion. Clever bloke and a good driver, we were happy to leave Patrick in his capable hands at the farm.

Earlier Mat had a bit of a show stopper himself when the cab-floor nylon 'onion' gearlever joint broke in a lane.
One of their 'equipe', Mike from Hannover, not only had one on board, but fitted it there and then in less than a couple of hours.
I think we all made some good friends, and you'd be hard pressed to travel overland with a better bunch.

Good pics or what from Jenny?
The first is of Daniel and Denise.. a very funny man is Daniel. .. Retired Professor of Microelectronic Control Systems and specifically NC machining. Started life as a Capstan lathe operator. He made a batch of decouplers for French club members. . a very difficult task.

Yep great shots - I think the Syncronauts set their stall out early with the tree removal (man /van power and 8" pull saw") to open up that nice wooded climb. Also digging and waffle boards to spare the NATO went down well. A hardy bunch.

Just exiting a lane with humungous ruts parallel to the road... I followed them around the tree and scrabbled out.

Ahh! I meant in Normandy. This year they changed the format a bit for us too. If you're a member of Syncro Club de France wherever they have their May trek won't be a prob. I think they have 3 or 4 a year.
Don't think they are all quite so lane/chemin intensive, possibly more touring and visiting
