Wrestled the new fridge panel into place. Held with one cleco pin and a small pair of vice grips and friction. Quite a challenge to get it in singlehanded.

Got busy with the shrinker/stretcher and now have a reasonable match to the curve of the side of the van.

Now I have to figure out how to make it fit lengthwise. Having done work to both B and C pillars there’s a wee gap down the bottom half of the panel. Hmmmm

Hello there Roger, I just happened to click on one of the 80-90 notifications & decided to catch up on the past 5 years of threads & saw you are online.

I can see your skillset has developed nicely, some good work achieved. You have clearly had a significant personal loss to deal with,I'm so sorry for your loss

No news from me, I've been busy on other projects, still got them both though

How much more work do you think there is for you to do ?

Good to hear from you!

Aye, it’s been a rough time, so it has. Did practically nothing to the van last year, but feeling more like myself this year and working on it has always been good for me.

How long to go? I said when I started that it would take me a year, so I’ll stick to that. (I’m not saying which year… :rofl )

Finally figured out I need to fettle the outer sill into position first, then get the fridge panel into shape where it fits reasonably second.

Here’s my solution to the gaping gap

Smoothed off…

Started the closure plates for on top of the sillImage

Adding a joddled edge with my eBay Rolastep (which sounds like a mobility aid?)

Made up the rest of the floor closures, drilled for MIGing, joddled and shaped, painted the underside.

Drilled the side panel and outer sill for MIGing, then noticed I hadn’t completed the waistline fillet (see 19 May ‘26) so trimmed it a bit, joddled the edge, took it home for finishing and primer…

Also took a mini wire brush to the puddle weld holes so I have clean metal to weld to. No pics

Positioning the waistline fillet (using masking tape as there’s no clearance for cleco pins)
Image

Added a positioning fillet with tacks

Removed the panel and puddled the fillet on

Fits well
