Well
there was a hole here
behind os seatbelt mount back of battery box, i think it had rotted due to a hole being drilled at some point and a bolt shoving through

anyhows fixed it now

put both bars back in and a few other items befor the lower front refits

easy cos i made it fit a while back and i just re blasted the seams and treated them
last peek at the os inside (sort of where the overider bolts through.)

speaking of which,it just so happens

a few other genuine goodies in there as well

tis like crimbo this , got a brand new genuine bumper as well
hmmmm

going for the sleek fully filled arch look

Looks as though you got the front springs off then

those rims would look nice on a lowered van..

Yes, I'd now like you to flair the arches right out and also space the wheels out a few inches. Sort of ur quattro look

Is the bit about lowering it true and if so why andto what extent? Im interested as running a 2wd westy on carats 205 70 14 standard height and was wondering how they run a bit higher like this one on 15s poss[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES] with ATs.
NB when are you starting on thd fibreglass and filler?

well its been a long day but
setting the gap here so its as near as dam all along

clamped up and set so will weld every 9" or so initially ,

spotted up

and the end

will run a disc over them prior to finishing the seam,
got a few nice grabs on the inside, much easier whilst the rad was off

small area in the middle of this side

again not that bad really

other side

big ashtray

new bit of steel getting seam welded

and now these

well it saves puddle welding the holes in ever decreasing circles. these steps are getting a few cotes of liner not the plaggy mats
sensor plug was too short so added 8" to it , all soldered and shrink wrapped

these were onto a right manky fixing on the ns inner wing so am extending them to the new fixing above the boost pipe
need a clean first though

bubble away

clean

so fire it up tomoz

Mike,
two quick questions if you don't mind..
[1] Whats the stuff you used to clean the wires of crud?
[2] Previous pics show "product" applied immediately after welding.. whats this?
TA!

hah, i use the word "product" tongue in cheek as its what the hairdressing places always refer to
err teamac zinc phosphate, for one, rustoleum do a good bare metal primer stuff in a rattle can, blast it in and use a windy gun to blow it right in, vactac first if there is rust residues as such in the bottom of the seam, which there usually is if you havent split the seam,
acid, hmm got it from a chrome plater mate a few years back , i think its dilute nitric acid, anyhows i use it to clean copper radiator cores before soldering outlets and the like in. if you leave something in it for a while as in mi nutes you see a yellow cloud emerge from it

best not to inhale this........
