This should keep you bike boys happy. Just no wild camping in the woods near me while your kids ride their bikes round, and round, and round, and round all day, mostly with no silencers on exhaust

As interesting as these Unimogs/Dakar support stuff is, the thread was about alternatives to your syncro, not how extreme , unpractical you can get!
Come on lads, pull it together!

Been out playing again today.
Drove a six wheel pinz.
I think I may have found a cure for syncro fever!!
Lee called it Pinz pox!
Honestly all I can say is that it was awesome. 4x4 is shorter that a T25 by 200mm, 6x6 is only 500mm longer, both are narrower (only about 30mm), put syncro on full lock, and then 6x6 on full lock, and it was only different by the track of the vehicle, ie syncro's outside wheel was 6x6 inside wheel at 180 deg from start point being the same.
Space to kip, cook, carry loads etc etc etc.
Only one downside.
Price.
Please help me find a cure for Pinz pox, I can't afford to suffer with it!!!
Rich

Very nice details, but cramped. "capable of achieving 14 litres/100km" they boast...
That's 20 mpg, tops

The detailing is sweet, and giving me lots to think about for future project. I would bite your hand off for 20mpg in an overlanding vehicle. Lucky to achieve 15 in a fully loaded Vw/man 8.136 or possibly even an LT (Nutz boys may have better insight here).

Been thinking about this recently.
Still miss my syncro, and wouldn't hesitate to get one again, bar one problem, the price they are now fetching puts them out of my reach. So that left me to deliberate on the best affordable alternative. Just picked up a mitsubishi l300 4x4 in fairly good condition for very sensible money so will be interesting to see if it comes anywhere vaguely close! If I decide its worth it, I will be doing a fair amount of work on it first, and doing some mods to make it more suitable for offroading etc.
