Couple of thoughts.
When ordering the UJs with GKN one if the clever chaps there sakes why I was using agricultural joints, I said that's what they had always sold me under their advice.
He did say there was a automotive quality joint available but in the UK they ave never stocked or sold one.
I got the price and then we both agreed that we were probably better off with the agricultural version!
Very very expensive.
Next thought is...
My iltis runs a prop (obviously) as do T4 Syncro, they do differ in the fact they don't use ye olde UJs but the iltis uses a CV joint front and rear and the T4 uses rubber coupling.
One of the things I have in mind for the pile of panel van I have is to make an adapter to go from DIN90 to 6 bolts for a cv joint then to get GKN to make a prop using fast joints ala iltis.
Just a thought but I think the cv joints will be less susceptible to vibrations.
