I am liking the valve, will be interested to see where you mount it and how you plumb it in

Planning to mount the valve in place of the original valve at the front and use the original cable to operate it,

I got my heater bypass valve today as it happens,

I’ve got a few busy weekend coming up so no real time to get the van on the lift to get the valve fitted, I also have an annoying gearbox oil leak to sort that also required the ramp,
But I will get into it before long,
I have also taken delivery of a set of these,

2wd steering rack crossmember reinforcing brackets,
I have got some work done to the in house victron setup tho….
Got the complete board in and mounted, wired, and almost fully functional, I forgot to order some 2.5mm 3 core for the inverter/charger (this arrived today) so will get this finished at the weekend,
I also need to cut a hole out in the side of the wall, to mount the screen…..

Ok so got some more work done on the victron install this weekend. Got the packs taped in two pairs, drilled and installed some cable glands through the bottom of the boxes for the cables to go through, bms is being mounted under the passenger seat, the thick red cable is the link lead between the two packs. I’ve ordered buckles and straps to be able to secure the battery’s to the seat boxes, installed 20mm insulation on all external surfaces to keep the cold away from the packs,

I need to extend the bms balance lead connections to the right hand pack, along with the temp sensor,
So I have brought the wiring into the house to extend it and can then reinstall tomorrow,
This is what plan to use to secure the battery’s down, with a buckle fitted where the red lines are in the last pic

You may as well be talking in some strange alien tongue -

I love these 'outside the box' installations, I have done a few myself in my time, but this is all rocket science to me. -

Very very impressive, but way beyond the capacity of my aging old grey cells.
Following with great interest. It is just taking me a bit longer than it used to.

So spent a few days getting the victron setup just about finished,
Here’s a few pics

Pic 1
Jbd 300amp bms mounted to a steel plate to make mounting under passenger seat much easier….
Pic 2
Complete wardrobe setup finished, cables routed correctly and cable tied up,
Pic 3 and 4
After measuring up 4 times and making 2 templates, I bit the bullet and cut the wall for the Raspberri pi with my multi tool, after modifying the screen case to accept two m6 bolts to bolt the case to the outer wall,
Pic 5
Battery Bluetooth monitor, I can access this to view voltage’s in each individual cell pack, change bms settings, check cell pack temps…..
Pic 6
As I have a smart fridge in my kitchen, I logged into my victory vrm portal online, once I have extended my WiFi range (doesn’t quite reach the van) I will be able to see the status of everything in the van from my kitchen

Nerdy-yes, also very cool

Loving all these updates Jamie, i've got similar lipos/BMS in the garage awaiting some attention (once the brakes are sorted).
How do you feel about those T3 steering rack braces?

Cheeky bank holiday weekend away in betws y coed north wales,
Good opportunity to try out the new fire up custom fire pit……
It also highlighted an issue with gearbox oil temps getting a little to high for my liking,
So a new cooler and fan is in order to maintain a consistent gearbox oil temp,
I originally ordered an inline temp switch boss to fit the fan switch but wasn’t happy with how it looked

so done some research and decided that the gearbox cooler banjo bolt could be utilised to mount the fan switch into, so drilled and tapped the top of the banjo (m4) dowry washer and some locktight for good measure and it measles neatly on the side of the gearbox case for a faulty accurate reading. This also means the fan is completely automatic, so if the oil gets to 105c it will activate the fan and bring the temp down to around 90c and switch off again,
Now to re design the cooler location (again!) and make some sort of scoop for it to catch air from within the splitter opening,
Im thinking either making something from alloy sheet or resin and fleece material to make some sort of ducting from the bumper to the cooler……
So thats next weekends job I think……
But overall, apart from the gearbox temps, the van preformed very well indeed on the hills, brakes have bedded in tidy now and have stopped squealing too

I can feel a difference with the braces fitted, could be the placebo effect that I know there there and it’s making me feel it’s different, but does feel better in the steering….

So couple of bits done over the last few weeks,
Pics 1-3
Finally go round to shortening the obd2 loom and hardwiring in the dash socket,
Pics 4-5
New cooler mounted and plumbed,
Pics 6-7
Showing location of the thermo switch for the fan activation, this is fitted to the banjo on the gearbox outlet flowing to the cooler
Both the switch and the fan are both wired up to inside and now I need to add a relay and fuse setup to above the fusebox.
Pics 8-9
Some home made rear spring spacers,
My van has always sat low on the rear, more so now with the h6 and 4eat fitted, so made up about 35mm’s worth of spacers for each side from nylon chopping boards, but I am going to try some different spring sets this week to see if I can bring it up without the spacers…..
T32 t5 springs are first to try……..

				Hey all,
It’s been a while eh!
Since fitting the h6 it’s always had a missfire when you use the kickdown switch and would occasionally trigger the eml warning light, would drive perfect under light throttle, but would stutter under load,
I remember when we fitted the engine it fired up and ran on 5 cylinders, I had to remove cylinder 5 injector and spray cleaner through it to unblock it,
So finally found a supplier for a new set of OEM injectors, got them ordered and they arrived Friday, (2 day delivery from Cyprus!!)
Hope fully this will cure my missfire under load and possibly improve the fuel economy

Currently it’s doing about 23mpg!
From looking at the live data, the long and short term fuel trims are all over the place and I’m thinking this is down to partially blocked or sticking injectors,
