Unscrewed the double seat backrest off its mounts and greased the rails, moves freely now. Seat manufactured in Austria.
Not much else today, oh - put the rear lights back in but no joy on those yet.
It’s about 1C today and when you can’t feel your toes, it’s hard work.

Christmas is still happening here. This will be an ideal replacement. I can recommend South West VW’s in South Molton, Devon; whom I bought this from.

Got the replacement engine delivered from Mick Crowe (NWVWT25) this week, so will get into the ole switcheroo soon.

Exciting times Martin! If you’re interested I have a Longlife Stainless Steel back box and link pipe if you’re interested?
Made for a 2.1 (so think it fits a 1.9) but needs a bit of fabrication with hanging brackets as they were stupidly cut by the workshop when the chap who had it before swapped the engine for a TDi.
Quality piece being a Longlife one and apparently only 6 months old when the engine was changed over. Let me know and I’ll take some pics at the weekend (was from a bus so presume would fit a cab)?
Also, is that your Beetle in the pic?

This engine is going into the ‘84 Velle. Mick had an early exhaust for it too, so maybe the next owner might take it off you. I’m selling the Velle this Spring.
This is the WiseWagens workshop. The beetle was going to be a drag car but it’s too far gone, spares only now.

No worries mate
My 13 year old is pestering me for a beetle for his first motor. Can’t believe how much they’ve increased in price over the last 5 years.

Due to current events I took the decision to pull the engine on my own, not that terrifying but it did drop!

I can see why the rear lenses were not in now, the cassette is the wrong type. It won’t fit on the pegs in the lens, well NSR won’t anyway. Something else for the list. I need a Hella type and this is a ULO type.
