Hil's contacted George at the campsite and he's happy to have us back !! No need to book as Hil is negotiating a discount depending on numbers.
From fri. 17th to sun 19th as Roger suggested.
Routes to be decided, I will recce. beforehand to hopefully include easy lanes, sightseeing and pub lunches.
There are some 'black runs' for the more adventurous

There you go

Well guys, from a chat round the campfire in Devon with Roger this event seems to be gaining interest.
The campsite can cope easily but the rangers won't be too happy if there's a convoy of up to 20 vans !!!!
I think we'll have to split into smaller groups with a leader with previous knowledge of the area and a cb.
O.S. explorer map 130 will help. (and the more cb's the better, It's a vast area and we don't want to loose anyone)
Any volunteers ?????

Baz,
I am hoping to come along but have other constraints to deal with first.
If I get there I have maps, experience and willingness to navigate or lead a group.

Looks like I will have to miss this one, very sorry Baz but clutch now gone after towing caravan back from Stratford last weekend, didn't help that I also stopped on the way to collect a half ton of firewood to take home!!,
Allroad has expensive suspension issues very imminent as well, so will wish you all a very enjoyable weekend, now turning into Mr Grumpy

Hi
I have been following this topic with growing interest and was wondering if there was room for a newbie to join you (no off-road driving experience at all).
I would need to avoid the wet bits as the air intake on my van is currently in the engine bay (no snorkel fitted at present), however having watched the videos of your trips there before it looks like this may by possible.
Regards Gary

Hi Gary, come along, the plains are mainly easy going, there are many 'sheep dips' some of them very deep

but you can just drive round them

I now have to work on the Saturday
Are there still plans for the Sunday? If there are I'd be up for making a long day of it and getting up to the campsite for breakfast time.
Thanks,
Pete

Jenny, Hil has printed copies of said leaflet to hand out on the day.
Also 'Salisbury plain training area newsletter oct 2014' showing areas of manoeuvres.
Seems it's a busy weekend so we will need to be on the ball re. navigation with so many vans
No go on the Friday, suggest we get organised, plan our routes etc.
There is late firing on Larkhill range on the sat. so bring your ear plugs !!!!!!!!

I'll be on my own so you would be very welcome to the passenger seat Patrick.

I'll be there on Sunday only though.

Anyone able to collect from Leeds or York a Syncro front bash plate and bring to Salisbury for me? I'll have postcodes soon to pin down collection location.
