Cheers 300CE, the wife thinks it looks very steampunk and we should do all the pipes in copper.
That'll be the royal WE then.

Not a restoration.

Water pipe arrived so o fitted that and filled up with G13, Then i primed the oil pump, threw some fuel down the carb, turned on the ignition, went round the back, connected a wire to my hot start relay so i could start it from the engine bay and............

She fired up and ran well after a few initial coughs

[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] it coughed a bit but didn't start. I checked it was pumping fuel, yep, I got the timing light out and checked timing. It was well off so a quick tweak sorted that and..... tapatalk won't let me post video. Grrrr...
Anyway.... it runs well. Doesn't clatter much, doesn't smoke much, no flames. A few minor coolant leaks from hoses that needed nipped up, including one from the stainless pipe behind the pulleys where it's hard to get at. no oil leaks, but in spite of tying up the clutch lever, the clutch has jammed. Bugger, think i'll pull the g.box off to sort the release bearing.

Nearly right on my guess, you should be very pleased
I think you have to be very careful when putting the release bearing on. When I changed my guide sleeve I did it 2 or 3 times before being happy that the side clips were in the right place. And then there was the fun of getting the rod for the slave cylinder in the right place.
A few little bits and pieces to do, you should be going out for a drive this weekend
ps...... you tease

The knocking noise is the silencer hitting the chassis, that's sorted now.
Oil is just cheap flushing oil so pressure should be better once I get some decent oil in there.
I havn't got it hot enough to open the thermostat yet so the coolant isn't bleeding but I'm getting there.
Glad to hear it run.

4 bar at cold idle and no smoke / leaky bits, sounds sweet

yep, 4 bar with the choke on/fast idle. And dropped to 2.5 as it warmed up and the choke came off and the idle speed dropped.
no water in the oil (yet).
Tappety rattle that should go away after a run.
Clutch is pissing me off as I thought I'd taken steps to stop it happening.
