I'm in the middle of doing some more oil testing on the WBX, so I'll post the results in the other thread.

Getting crankcase fumes from a vent is quite normal, that's how cars used to be until environmental rules tightened a PCV systems were introduced. Those fumes will include oil, combustion residues and water vapour.

FWIW a 911 oil thermostat is fully open at about 82 degrees C - no need to consider water temperature on those oil cooled engines.
