Too hard on yourself there Ian, You probably didn't think about old fuel when you down-graded to a carb. Its not your fault, we've all got to learn!!

Just pleased you've got it sorted Karl. And don't forget there will be a few on here (me included) who have learnt from your experience!

Cheers Pete. Interesting that it was getting petrol (I knew this for a fact as I'd removed & watched injectors. This sent me off on the ignition goose chase) but obviously not good petrol or possible not enough pressure due to sucking fumes. I didn't know history of van or how long it had been stood. So if anyone ever gets a similar project, don't assume just pumping gas means it must be something else.
Hope it may help others, even if I take some stick.
