more progress...

new wiper motor installed without a hitch and new heating ducts too...



rear 'upstairs' done, we've decided to remove the extra bed (as there's only two of us) and convert it into storage as you can see, new upholstery and cupboard door and new led light fitting added too...



and the Front 'upstairs' done too - same as the rear I recovered the cupboard front panel and attached a new door and finally installed the remaining led internal light. Also installed the DVD/TV setup, a cracking little unit this (from Hong Kong on ebay) we also bought a little freeview box too.
The TV/DVD player is housed in a handbuilt unit and mounted to the cross section of the roof, It will be 12V and powered by the Leisure battery - I have ran two phono audio cables to the main stereo (which weve upgraded too) and this will power the sound for the TV unit. The Freeview box and amplified Aerial will be 240V and will hook upto the mains. I have also built in a switchable power selector for the stereo to switch it between car and leisure battery.









I removed the front rubber mat and gave the whole floor a good t-cut and polish and treated and little rust spots. She's not in bad shape at all for a tenty year old bus...



Finally the new floor is in for the rear, this stuff is marine decking flooring and has done the job a treat, It was a doddle to put in, a little flooring adhesive and then once it has set I will give it 3 coats of waterproofing floor varnish... which will then be followed by putting the furniture units back in ... gulp!

This was from a seller from Japan on ebay... if you do a search for 12v DVD/tv player you should find em, there are quite a few variants. Add the word 'car' and that should narrow it down a bit. Think it was £120.

er thats a tough one, I got em from a friend of a friend type thing, all I know is that they are designed for the Marine market and are used to fit out yachts etc. I'll do some digging and get back to you.

The wood for the units was from Covers and is Oak covered mdf, you can get it in two thicknesses and we used the narrower of the two.

a little further progress...

nearside and rear insulation is in...





I had to re-make the cover panel for the base of the seat in order to blank out the LPG tank, a little tinkering needed here and there with this but Im happy with the finished article...



and with a huge, huge sigh of relief the furniture units are in and shock horror they actually fit...







more connecting up and wiring to get on with tomorrow although it sholdnt take me too much longer hopefully

Thanks mate, however I'm more relieved they actually fit ha-ha. But yeah, we do intend to get some major use out the van over the next years and starting to really enjoy her... back to more wiring fun in the meantime

almost final update (I hope)...

what we got done today...

Curtain rails and curtains in, door cards finished and refitted, Jailbars in, electric hook up socket installed (behind rear number plate), voltmeter (for leisure battery) added to buddy seat, 240v socket connected up as well as Fridge to 240 & Gas (dont think Im gonna bother with 12V), new (homemade from two sets) sunvisors in with mirrors and lights, zig unit refitted and old holes blocked up with blanking plate, 12V & 240 power sockets for top cupboard added and connected up and finally rear high level brake light moved to allow jailbars in (one of those nagging jobs that you just cant be bothered to get round to)

pics...































little niggling jobs left to do, connect up rear heated window and rear window wash pump, fix front wipers (stopped working for some reason, install stereo and conect up DVD sound and add two way switch for power to stereo for switching between car and leisure battery.

Nearly nearly there (seems like Ive been saying that for weeks!!!)

That looks amazing - if you feel like you want to share, could you PM me the price he charged for this, not that I could afford it for a year or so but I really like the work he has done and would be interested for our van. His FB page pics are great.
