Refitted my side Windows at last, using jk elephant johnny window rubber.






Just the ns rear to do, but I have to tidy up the metal work first.

Think you were asking where the blow off valve is BOV. From my questions through this forum, I have found it to the right hand side and just below the big air cleaner box. Well this is on our 1.6 1991 water cooled turbo diesel anyway. It looks a bit like the breather coming off the top of the cylinder head.

Thanks, I thought It was a breather!

Drained the gearbox oil today ready to fit new drive shaft seals to find not a lot of swarf on the drain plug.

depending on when it was last changed and waht the stae of the plug was then? I wouldnt be overly concerened , no big bits there, Aiden will confirm later

I was worried when releasing it that it would have teeth and muck stuck to it. Not sure when it was last changed tho.

Just an update,
I've been working on replacing seals in g/box and engine.
I tried to remove to drive shaft oil seals and snapped my cheap seal removal tool, a bit of overkill welding fixed it and seals just popped out with some pressure.

hello mate i have been reading this ppst with great interest as mine is a 86 1.6td jx im just about to make a start on replacing my fuel filler panel just a quick one what pipe did you use for the return? and where did you get it from thanks dave

All my parts come from Simon Baxter at brickwerks nowadays, you pay more but you get great service and everything fits.

i have had a couple of things from him and the service is great how did you find welding the fuel filler panel in?

I replaced the whole wheel arch panel

This is it removed, the panel was ok to fit nut not great, both front arches seemed to have the incorrect radius making them about and inch to short, a bit of fettling and stretching and p40 (shh ) I found fitting the new plastic filler housing into the arch a right pain as it has to twist

When you do it replace the backing ring, brickwerks do stainless ones inc screws,
