How ever Pete and I know a few land owners who we are hoping to persuade them into using there land for a bit of Off Roading and Wild Camping.
And there are a still number of Pay and Play sites near hand in the Central belt to have fun in......

There are plenty of Hidden Gems of Wild Camping sites out there in Scotland it is up to us to get together and make the most of them...............

agreed, theres plenty to get up to up here and there are a couple places to go pay and play wise, we might have a bit of green lane, im looking into it now. we can also do some reiver style border raids into northumberland as a group.
theres things to discuss, info and knowledge to pass on & each others vans to gaze at !

[quote="Justavan"] 16th of January at Halfords in Springkerse Retail Park Stirling FK7 7TL

Good central location and there is plenty of room in the car park to line up our vans and fix any minor break downs.
Also easy to find and is 2 mins from the motor way from both North And South.
Should be less than an hours drive for the majority of interested parties and not to far for those further afield.
Pete and I have been reconnoitering some areas near to Stirling with the view of some off roading in the near future.

AS for a start time I was thinking along 12 noon for our first get together ............

Just to post up the location for tomorrow, shame the snow has gone eh

only a few of us today, as commitments and other stuff came into force.
But we had Lughole, justavan, syncro up, chas1050, and me.

we met in Stirling, and then drove around to the Wallace monument for a brew and something to eat, incidently Alastair wins the prize for being the only RHD.
here are a few pictures, with some more to come from chas1050 in a bit, and maybe the others.

also good to know that there maybe ways round the non greenlane issues of scotland.
is this the birth of S.O.S ? ( Syncro Owners Scotland )

Yep it was good to meet you all,
Looks like we are all like minded people and are on our way with a plan for our next outing.............

Typically we came across another closed road on our little jaunt but still managed to find some mud to plug in even in the dark.

i say meet up at the halfords again and then head to the back road to the monument again, like last time - if theres more folk this time round.
or
all meet at a pay and play, which i would favour...

Hi Joe,

See your keen to get off road and get your Doka Dirty and Dentted.......
We were thinking of a run up the Trossachs to a picnic spot that might offer some Off Road driving but Pete has not got back to me about giving the area a reconnoitre first. So if you fancy a wee run its about an hour from Stirling if you want to join me and get that area sorted out for a day or two of fun?
We can post up a thread for Scottish Syncro owners to see what DATE we can get every one to commit to............
When I spoke to Ian from The Nutz he said to give him a shout for the next time we are getting together and although he's not got a Syncro on the road he can come along and ride shotgun on the day.
I spoke to Rob (Slobbo) he said any sunday from 27th Feb right through March was good for him.
We would be better to see what Off Road and recovery gear we all have as a group on any given get together before we dash off and get stuck in the mud.
Just ask Slobbo And Chiz about how easy it is for that to happen.......
Any how you guys are right we need to get something going soon so lets see if there's any feed back from this thread and I'll post a new thread pretty soon.........
You can call me on 07709221058 if you want to chat about any ideas for a get together and enjoying our Syncros.

How can that be!! Clearly an injustice. A country as Beautiful, open and scenic as Scotland....and you can't go off a tarmac road??, I'm planning a trip to Cape Wrath, begining to wonder now?

if you can find an old drovers road it is legal, or an old military road for that matter. the problem with those roads, if they are legal to drive is estate / land owners....

How can you find Drovers or Military roads, or is it just a case of studying an OS map?
