Man you make me so jealous! I have been doing nothing except finding the rust,

digging the worst of it out, cleaning it and treating with vactan. Seems a never ending job at the moment. You've done a neat job so far, nice one.

Thanks mate, yep I know how you feel. All in all I think I have spent nearly 1 1/2 weeks welding and repairing panels, rubbing down and treating with vactan. Now is the fun bit though of getting the paint on! Good luck with yours, you'll get there soon and be ready for paint!!

Ral is 7322. Although it is quite a light blue rather than a mid blue. Ral 7323 is more of a mid blue.
Really appreciate the comments guys, I will add some more pics on mon or tue hopefully then should gave another coat of paint on with better coverage over the black!
Cheers, Andy
Thanks buddy, looking forward to seeing the van when it is finished

Looking good! Are you feeling confident about it passing the MOT? Mine is due in June but need to spend yet more money on new rear brakes (including backplates), new front pads, 2 tyres etc..........the wife has had enough & is telling me to get rid! I love her, she has grown on me & would never even consider parting, afterall we have been through so much together (the van that is)!!

Well, MOT....When I bought the van in Sept, I bought it as an MOT failure. I don't know if it failed on any bodywork but this has all been done now anyway!
I think last time it failed on: Emissions, and a loose hazard light switch (which has been fixed) emissions may be due to wrong fuel mix I suppose as there is a new carb on the van but will give it a good service before mot anyway.
I don't know what it is about these vans, but I agree....I've always wanted one and now I have one I don't want to part with it.....so trying to do everything now to future proof it

Looking real good so far.
I have just about finished the rust work (it just kept on coming), done the filler option on the holes, with extra glass fiber reinforcement, vactan the exposed areas and one coat of primer over the lot. Weather here is against me (still sleety snow and damp) so will wait till the warmer spring weather to start the paint job (pics to follow). If it turns out half as good a job as yours i will be well and truly happy!
