Hi ,,,, if you have a look on some other forums you may see pics of adaptors like KEP to fit diesel engines onto the four bolt VW box , I've never seen one with dowels fitted , now if any of these kits did for some unforeseen circumstances become loose then they would in effect rotate on the raised face ,,,,,

It uses the standard 228mm VW clutch kit no bodge up parts like doubled up thrust spacers or fancy parts that would be unobtainable standard input bearing will fit , ( I use slightly longer bearing ) I must say its much better than the abortion adaptor that was used in the rover 218 & 418 when they fitted the PSA type engines ,,
Quote Andy Simpson "Show me a pug engine with original head at 300000miles" the PSA group used several different radiator manufactures like most automobile makers do
one said company used to supply Peugeot with very fine radiator cores that would easily silt up ,( the t25 does not cause any problem to overheating to the Peugeot so does not end up with cracked heads unlike some engines do ) they also had similar problems to other manufactures ( same as my old golf ) using steel pipes that would rust through ( I have to replace one on my T4 2.5tdi ) causing overheating problems ( In 1987 my golf had over £300 pounds spent on welding up cracks and skimming - quote was £100 to skim but I did not realise the cracks were a problem A new head was £400 at the time ) Here's a pic of a Pinzgauer I've been after one of these for a while a later one with the 2.5 TDI but they are over £30K when they come up , I've now located a couple one with the 2.4 another with the 1.9TD ( that model gets the nick name Trigger after Only fools and Horses something to do with its had four cylinder heads and two engine blocks but its still the same engine ) The six wheel 2.5tdi ones are really great and quite a serious off road vehicle , ignition looks like Mercedes set-up and a VW key fixed to part of the brain , Don't think they have brake to brain link might be a little like the brain used for the forklift trucks that use the TDi engine ,,, ,,, Hope you like the pics I've got some more of the 2.5tdi engined one that I went to view ,, I'm a little pi55ed with one of my other Graz built vehicles ( nothing to do with VW or Mercedes ) electronic gear selection and showing no fault codes !!!!!!!
