This is a voice from the grave as I have obviously shot myself.

i briefly considered buying practical caravan magazine purely for campsite info. I've since discovered they have a website. That's my dark secret. The website I'm most ashamed of looking at. :oops:

Pockets if you go to Pembrokeshire then there is a great camspite right by the sea on the cliffs near St Davids called porthclais farm http://www.porthclais-farm-campsite.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And the nearest site to Tenby is Meadow Farm. It's a small farm campsite but only a 5 minute stroll into Tenby and it's right by the coastal path. Never went myself sadly but walked past and it looked nice http://www.porthclais-farm-campsite.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We go to this site quite a lot at Rhosneigr on Anglesey, Bodfan Farm.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/revie ... revid=3646

The village is on a headland and has beaches on two sides, a chippy, at least one pub, a couple of restaraunts and a few surf shops.

It's a big place for wind/kite surfing and normal surfing as well.

The campsite has fantastic views of snowdonia.

The village is at one end of the runway of RAF Valley which is a big training airfield, so you get an airshow sometimes.

The site has basic but clean showers (20p), toilets, washing machines etc.

The llyn peninsular is also lovely. Try to get up north as it is spectacular.

Have a great trip.

Get yourself the "Cool Camping - Wales" guide book. There are some amazing sites listed in it. Just avoid Shell Island, or ASBO island as I renamed it after my one and only visit. It's an absolute hell-hole filled with the scum of the earth. :evil:

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh MUTTLEY! why couldn't I have seen that earlier? alot of the sites previously mentioned are fully booked including the Three Cliffs site and the others wanted a minimum of a couple of nights stay whereas I wanted to spend one night here and there exploring so I ended up booking a site near Fishguard that doesn't look as good as that one and is quite a bit more expensive :( will have to remember that one for next time :ok

Just before you get to the Caerfai site in St Davids there is a pub with a small site attached. If I remember, its a bit cheaper than the actual Caerfai site and closer to the city center (St davids city center is like a village). Its a pleasant place to stay to explore the coast and the city and you can have a nice pint before stumbling back to the van.

No need to apologise Mutters, that one you've pointed out is just my sort of site though, instead I booked (and paid for) the Whitewell Holiday Park
http://www.whitewellholidaypark.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and they don't do refunds so c'est la vie as the Germans say :wink:

Could be alot worse, at least the one I booked doesn't appear to be one of those regi-mental caravan parks with perfectly flat grass each pitch with a hardstanding and generally no character. Spending one night here then two at Erwbarfe Farm Caravan Park in Aberwyswyth (lady sounded very nice on the phone) then we will move onto Snowdon National Park but haven't booked there yet.

I looked into this as it looks a very nice site but some of the reviews I had read put me right off.
