This may be of some interest'; especially the bits on changing types of oil, its not as boring as it may first appear.

i use asda oil, has been used by the previous owner, no problems here. i figure it has to be better than even the best oil in 1985 and this engine is still going ..

Cheap for me in my tired engine, as it does drip a bit, and burns a bit
The recon currently gets ??? as its still under warrenty, and the garage is changing the oil. Shall ask what it is whenit goes in for its final service.

i might change to fuchs 15w/50 only bcause it's a rated oil within spec. is the gsf fuchs 15w/ multigrade or semi synth?

Fuchs 15W40 is a mineral oil as opposed to semi-synthetic.
