carb'd WBX s and Air cooled have a mechanical fuel pump as standard , so it cannot be switched out, and even if it was switched out (via a solenoid) it would still have a float full, which is enough to get it 1/2 a miles away.......
much better to switch the starter out, and the ignition, no turny, and no sparky, no go.
all of this will only be any help after they have damaged the doors and or windows getting in, so a visable deterrent (clamp or suchlike) has got to be considered

Thanks for explaining,so its like old diesels that use a mechanical pump rather than electric.
When i fit my alarm/immobiliser it will sort out the start and ignition but id still like to add a hidden switch.
Yes im starting to grow on the idea of a visible deterrent, its just deciding what. The clutch/gas pedal lock looks good

I've also got highly visible steering locks on both vehicles

a visual deterant has to be the best i sold a car to a mate once it had a imobilizer hiden switch he phoned me to say he left it in town on a night out went back to it the next day it woudnt start a mate towed him home bought new battery new starter ignit leads roter and cap still no joy so called me up i asked did u turn on the switch the dim wit forgot he had put on the imobilizer what an expensive lesson for him

or to stop your windows getting broken leave ur door open its better than broken glass when its pizzed down all night and a cheap old 2knob stereo wins every time
