Thanks for the very detailed advice, all of which I am passing onto my mecha and very grateful for..and I'd like to get the gaskets too if thats ok..

While I was an apprentice I saved every penny to buy.............AN ARIEL LEADER and it was £389 on the road 1966ish :D petrol was less than two bob a gall................snore snore snore.......when I was a boy........ I will shut up shall I ? Sorry to pinch your thread but oh what happy days.

Then came the Honda Benly 125 which started, lit the road, went better and faster and drove a whole load of nails into the British Motor cycle industry's coffin.

R.I.P. all them horrible 2 strokes. James 200, BSA sunbeam, James Captain, BSA bantam... Rust in Pieces.

Well I never Laurie, the Benly was my second bike and my mate bought a Suzuki super six VROOOOM ! I then had a BSA M21 600 sidevalve with a chair (ex AA) Lovely old bike, six revs to the lampost ! You see even then I liked the old plodder compaired to the fast japs. Sorry to steal this thread, shall we continue with a new one. There must be at least three blokes out there interested.
Oh and the Greeves, Frances Barnet and Jawa (which you could start backwards)
