surely you can get 500 miles done in 3 weeks...??? I do 150 a week driving from chatham to maidstone for work! Book it in for the 500 mile check and oil change the day before you go away. At least then the suppliers have done the requisite first service.
After that, oil changes and servicing as per their recommendation.

Emm. I charge £740 for a fully rebuilt engine, including all new studs. I have to make decisions on all the second hand parts I use and even on the new because some are thrown strainght back at my supplier if I don't like the quality. I have seen people paying £500 for second hand water boxers with 30 day warranties!
Drilling out studs in a water boxer is about 1/2 hour per stud and there are 16. Mind you, if 16 studs need drilling out, the case goes in the skip.
I get a warranty from my supplier which, being I am a trader and not a private individual, means that I return parts to them. They assess the fault and sometimes send the part back to the supplier. I then, if I'm lucky, get the part replaced and the rest is up to me! No labour refund. That is why the warranty is 12 months. If you buy a part, retail, from the same supplier, you get the same assessment but the added protection of consumer rights. (unless they regard you as a trade customer)
Vege may have more bargaining power than me and probably buy direct from manufacturer, even so, I doubt whether they will get labour refunds.

Naw, it blooming well isn't. Well peeved
On monday, when I delivered vehicle, was told three days. Called again on weds for a progress report?....should be ready friday afternoon...but I can't get there due to work on friday. Can I collect sat morn?.....closed!

Monday it is then. Another weekend without our beloved Poppit.
Also yet to hear an explaination why new recon went belly up.
Upside is they will happily do filter and oil change before we leave FOC.
Wow bleeding weeee! I can feel a Victor Meldrew moment approaching.
They should be delivering THE F**KING VAN BACK TO ME... PRONTO!
But jeez...six bleeding days to change pistons, rings and sleeves..... a days' work for most of the more gifted on this forum. Sorry to rant!
No Fox and Goose for us I'm afraid. Pups having stitches removed saturday afternoon plus other worldly derring do's to put right tomorrow.
