Just a thought, are all pas pulleys of the 3 belt type? Sand blasted the crud off the one I bought and then it hit me - what's the 3rd pulley for? Thanks.

Only two tracks on the pulley for the belts I think?
Memory time again, but I think it only had two tracks... ( One pulley with two tracks. )

Make sure engine head has the correct holes in it too, so you can bolt the pump in location. Apparently some heads didn't have them.!!

I really need to get mine back to get you some photos.

The vehicles with air con had a three belt pulley IIRC.

So, AJ Simmo has brought it to my attention that my dg will need drilling/tapping for the pump bracket. Could anyone be so kind to supply me with some photos of the bolts where they fit in the head? Many thanks.

That is what I meant by this comment What2Do.

Still not got mine back yet but may be popping up there this weekend to inspect the work so far.
If no-one beats me to it, I should have some pics for you then.

I swear to god your message has been read but not a word of it registered in my head!!! Look forward to the pics, thanks.

Right then - I went to the garage today to see progress on some of the work ongoing.
van was rammed into the corner so I had to climb over a bit of junk inside and take the pics from the inside...

Orientation is therefore me inside looking toward the rear door dangling my phone over the top of the engine bay - bare that in mind:

I struggled to get right into it all over the carp in there to be honest What2Do, so these are not the best but in the first pic you can see the two bolts to the left ( in my pic ) of the alternator. I think there is a third out of view that I couldn't get to...
The second pic shows the reservoir location.

Gonna take me some time to get pics of the route for hydraulic pipes though, but I am sure BigHerb sent me some a while back for me to be able to know how they route through from rear to front.

I'm a bit dissapointed I couldn't get some better ones due to it being in that garage, so if they aren't good enough I can try again when I finally get it back in one piece and on my own drive.

On a good note - I bought a Westfalia pop up roof with brand new canvas today to replace my tired old Holdsworth one..!!

Have I already thanked you for these pics? Not sure I have, sorry, THANKS. :D

Does the reservoir fasten directly to the body or is there a mounting bracket?

Thanks.

Ps. What's the spade connector for on top of the pump?

No probs.

The resoervoir - I think - has a bracket with it that is welded to the body of the van.
I am popping back up there Friday, so I can double check that unless someone else answers for me.

That spade connector is a pressure switch I think.
It should go to the Carb to increase idle speed when on full lock. Stops it stalling.

Problem is I think I would need a 2E4 carb to connect that and not a 2E3 that I currently have. In reality though, although the revs do drop when stationary and turning the wheel to full lock, it doesn't cause the van to stall. It is easier to leave it as it is than source another carb ( especially as they are rarer. )

You will really like the steering when you fit it mate - only problem is your misses will want to drive it...!!

Phew, got enough to source without changing carbs!! The other half won't be driving it for a while due to the 'shame factor' with it needing 'some' bodywork. She drove it in the summer, it was hilarious as we were on a quiet road doing 50 and she asked if we were going too fast! We forget that first time we got behind the wheel with the unorthodox seating position and 50 felt like 80 :rofl .

I did a little digging through my old posts for you.

This kind fella posted some pics for me. He has the steel hydraulic lines - the ones you will need are on BW, so far easier to instal.

https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=150354" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I won't be getting mine back until the new year now. A `small` project has morphed into a larger one and I have dived in head first into some body work and paint..!!

Having said that, you probably won't be starting yours too soon, so if you need me to I can make a 2min video clip when I finally get it back, of all the bits that go into this conversion.

I will cover different parts, hydraulic line routes and fixture points for you if you want. It won't be soon though.!!

Starting soon? What language is that which you speak? I looked at the link and I figure you must be brighter than I as it all looks like rusty spaghetti to me. There's some metal hydraulic lines on eBay at the moment, the vendor says they're off a lhd but will fit a rhd, mmmmm, would like some confirmation of this before thinking any more about them. Are there flexible alternatives! I imagine they'll be a lot easier to fit and fasten in place.

Not sure how easy it would be to instal the hard metal ones, but I would imagine the age they will be, it ain't worth it...?
( And I would treble check LHD ones will fit a RHD vehicle if you go that route. )

Note the statement on BW page: "From the factory there is a bewildering array of different pipes for 2WD, 4WD, Petrol, Diesel, LHD and RHD variants, this kit will fit all models!"
