that exhaust flange is not fully welded on the outside, I wonder if it's fully welded on the otherside?

if not perhaps it could blow from there?

Looks like a stainless, I'm sure they're only tacked on the outside.
Mine is.
Full weld on the mating face.
Maybe the flange is oversize?

why was the exhaust changed?
could the melting have happened before, and you didn't notice? It's only a small point.
my old exhaust went there because the thermo housing leaked onto it ( warped from years of heat) and it rusted through.

It is just tacked on the outside and seam welded inside so no sealing issues:)

I needed to replace the lambda sensor. There was so much rot it seemed the easiest option to replace the whole system...

So just done 70 miles. No leaks. Pulls so well. No flat spots. No hesitation. Happy days!!!!!
