Which is what i am going to have to do. The only thing is i cannot for the life of me find a way to get the wire from the tacho/dash down to under the vehicle to take to the coil. Cannot seem to find any access holes to run the wire through. Any clues?

As I mentioned earlier, I bought about 8 metres of very narrow three-core white-covered main flex (under a fiver from Wilco I think) and ran it down behind the dash, underneath the chassis (cable-tied to existing loom underneath) and on to engine bay and coil. Its the sort of flex you'd use for a low-draw domestic appliance like an alarm clock, small light etc. That will also provide two 'free' wires to engine bay should you ever need them in the future. It was by far the simplest way to do it.

Where does it come out under the chassis? I have the wire just cant find a way through from the dash to under the vehicle.

I ran a cable in conduit ( although if it's cable rather than single wires the conduit isn't really needed) along the chassis by the loom, over the tank and then up above ths spare wheel through the large grommet by the hester pipes which come out behind the plastic paanel infront of gearstick.

If you take the upper grille off, you will see where the wiring to the headlights comes down from below the dashboard. I feed the wiring to my oil pressure gauge through there. I taped the wire to a metal rod, pushed it up until it appeared down below the instrument panel and then pulled it through.
Straightforward to route wires up to behind the grille.

Don't know if it will help, but the thick red cable here is my new power cable for front headlights. Similar scenario although I took the rev counter wire on the opposite side.
