After reading this I have discovered a parasitic drain from the starter both of 0.28a when first connected through mm. Sony head unit switches on to stay mode. Switch radio off with button and draw drops down to 0.03.
I do have alarm fitted (Bosch), would that be about right?
I do have an isolater to fit but is it OK to fit to -'ve terminal on battery?

The isolator should technically be on the neg (-) of the battery , as you are always advised to connect the plus (+) of a battery first and then the neg(-) .
And anyway it's easier to put it on the neg (-) side, it's only one wire , as opposed to many on the plus (+)

Jon, maybe I am reading that ^^^ wrong. Could you expand on it a bit, there should be zero drain from the starter motor as it is totally disconnected unless being operated by the ignition key to fire up the engine.
E D I T = ignore this, OBG has shown me the light (below)

Yep, sorry, starter battery! I seldom look when typing and the spell checker thingy turned bty into both, hence the initial confusion.
Have now installed the (simple) isolator on a new battery, we'll see how it goes for me remembering to actually unscrew the connection!
Would still like some more info on that 300mA drain though, is it as I suspect, the Bosch alarm or is that not likely to draw that much?
