Started to make some panels up and block the side of my lean to in. Bought the secondhand window for a tenner.
It will never be as snug as a garage but saves the van from the worst

Some very snug shelters, but its under cover which is the main thing. Im going to cost a shed build when the van returns

tforturton wrote:Nice garage. Re the Syncro - you could lift the roof on props, and put in another layer of blocks all the way around, then drop the roof back down. It would lift the roof by about 8 inches, and still look much the same.
What kind of props? Thinking of this for mine as I've a hightop. Garage is block built with roof trusses on top - standard construction only 10 yrs old with a pitched roof. Can't build anything temporary due to the wind here - mean wind speed in Jan/Feb is 15 - 20 knots.

These would be Acrow props. They're adjustable posts used in construction trade to support masonry etc during building work, could be used to jack the roof up and then lower it onto a new line of blocks

The comment re the props was a little bit tongue in cheek! It could be done though, but you may have a problem with the doors - they'd be too short, and you'd have to extend them upwards in some way, to fill the gap left by lifting the roof. Not sure how easy that would be.

Got an up and over door, so I'd need to make new doors anyway...

I'm intrigued! What's the vehicle, only just in view, over on the far left of the picture?
