Why not find a decent condition runner without an interior and transplant the Devon interior?

Thats a really good idea, keep them coming please. We could manage that and it would be fun.

Pity I cant post some pics so you could see what I mean.

My son bought the van cheap about 5 years ago and it has been a struggle with the rust and it has had a lot of welding already. Lots of mechanical issues along the way which we enjoyed sorting, but the body is out of our league.

The van obviously means a lot to my son and he doesnt want to let it go. I am not so attached to it and saw it as a van learning experience.

I am well retired and bought my own van last year, a 1975 tintop bay with a well restored body. I went to the Brighton Breeze last saturday and that was a fantastic event and yes there were some great T25's there as well as the splittys and bays. Couple of fantastic Devons there in wonderful condition but sadly I dont see how my sons van could be restored to that condition.

Sadly my sons van is out of mot so could not be at the event as it has been the past 4 years.

I am looking and have seen some nice T25's for sale but I think I am wasting my time.

Just as an update i have Taken heed of the advice on here and my plan is to strip the old girl of anything i can re-use, engine/gearbox/glass ect i will then ship the body out for scrap (unless anyone can find a use for it)
Then next year try and find a shell that i can rebuild that way i should have all the running gear etc .

Does anybody have advice on the best places to look??

Option...for the sake of a 10 minute conversation with the misses, I'd get rid and look for another. That way you'll be on the road in 12 months, it's not much of a drag then....gets a bit boring after that amount of time just repairing
all the time. Mrs will appreciate your extra time spent with the family, instead of the never ending van project...

Right choice getting rid-that van was a nightmare. Much as I like my van what's more important is having something that actually works and can be used! If I wasn't in so deep I'd have got rid by now and gone for something uninspiring but reliable
