Sorry to dig this thread going but wondered if anyone had heard of Kjet running LPG? Mine is non electronic Kjet (no Lambda) so not sure how the LPG would be metered.

Just toying with the idea as I would like a LPG tank for cooker, heater etc.

My South African van has mechanical KJet and lpg, with BLOS, yours might need to be done with a mixer plate, would be set up as open loop. Probably could have a lamda fitted and go to closed loop. Basically done as if a carb.

Way i would look at it is if you drop the block and replace the wearable bits then you know where you are with that engine, another engine from another car/scrapper is an unknown quantity to you and may need some of the bits that your current engine needs sooner down the line that you hope, so you could end up pulling that one to do the same, do the job once, if your engines healthy then keep it and do the service items and perishables like all the belts, seals etc on it

Mine is open loop with a mixer ring. Runs better on lpg than on petrol. The challenge comes with protecting the kjet metering unit from possible backfires. My own solution is a gas powered ram which opens the metering flap when running on lpg so any backfires safely pass by.
