Cheers...there are pockets out there but it seems much more popular to talk industry down.
We are just about to place an order for 10 new press brakes at just over 120k a piece.....choice is german, japanese, belgian or dutch.

Personally I cannot see how this country can continue given the decline in manufacturing. Nearly all our income seems to be derived from services such as banking in modern times. Our industries used to be in the forefront of world manufacturing but are now just a shadow of their former selves. Any company that can hold its head up above water against the onslaught of the Far Eastern countries deserves support from our populace.

Its so sad to see a man who left school when I did, serving his apprenticeship with Courtalds as a tooling expert, now stacking shelves at bloomin Tesco. He said work had almost dried up, resulting in there being almost no difference in hourly rate. He just quit and now stacks shelves at night.
He has a fantastic lathe in his shed and turns out such precision work but with such limited demand....

Yes agree - they bloomin are. They almost want mounting on a small polished wooden plinth!
