Bradfords fine by me...more northern the better.

There were also lots of people trading at Syncro25 which always makes for a bit more interest. People like to spend a bit of money on their vans as we all know and the opportunity to pick things up and have a look at them before buying was great at Mammut park.

Syncropendence never has anyone trading.

All the other vehicles that were on display were good too.

I suppose Austria is the most obvious choice, Graz to be more precise.

if it were to be held down south there is a sort of military play ground (pay and play site) witch could be viable. i have been a fe times with the AWD club. it is located along the just off the A3, crossings from portsmouth for the french would be easiest for them, and dover is not that far either. around 2&1/2 hours aprox.

place is called slab common, bordon, and is requarly used by many 4x4 clubs. sailsbury is with in easy reach as are the surrey lanes (the north downs), for outings both not particularly challenging but both are very "english". the south downs are now not drivable, i did it years ago on the south downs way when it was a byway on my motor bike.

the most important thing would be that the venue was big enough, i also liked the idea of a welsh laning extravaganza!!

I can't think of anywhere that I know of in the UK that would be suitable, not in the south anyway.

In terms of venturing a long way to an event, if I were coming from across the water I think I'd prefer it if it was in the surroundings of Somewhere like Yorkshire or the lakes etc.

The largest camp site in Europe is in Wales...

a way of making it interesting would be to to combine it with SP15 and camperjam, then our european cousins would have the benefit of
greenlaning, offroad and trials, cultural trips around wales, and a VW van themed show at the end maybe. would SP cope with 150 vans?

Agreed. I really don't see the reasoning why the UK should host it at all. Given the distribution of Syncros sold throughout Europe, somewhere like Denmark would make more sense as a central location, to cater for all the Scandowegian vehicles that were exported to those parts.

Very central but also very very flat! not that much in the way of syncro friendly areas up here

Ian, just trying to mix it up and take the burden off one country to organise it, I quite like the idea of it being in a different place each time and as a lot of syncro driver/owners like a bit of an adventure it seems to right thing to do.
I was just trying to open it up for discussion as it's creeping up on us and ive not seen any mutterings of anyone organising anything.
Agreed the UK seems a little selfish for us to do it on our doorstep but in the absence of anyone else coming forward to do anything then why not.

As crazy as it may seem to us, lots of people actually choose to come on holiday to the UK.

If there was a location suitable then I don't think everyone would be put off by it, they might choose to combine it with an extended stay?

I think offering to host it is great idea.
