Aye, but unfortunately a possibly deadly one.

+ another

Plus those cheap portable heaters don't work when it's cold  :?

The gas cannisters get cold in normal use, add that to a cold outside temperature and the gas stops vaporising and the flame dies right down to a useless flicker.

:run

Not an option..
I value my life.
even with ventilation.
Toby
there are lots of posts about heating.. I'm sure you've searched and discovered some facts but here's a few nuggets you may have missed
like you need at least 1.4 kw of constant heat in an uninsulated van...pop top maybe a little more, because they radiate heat out so quickly.
Flame heaters (gas, petrol, diesel) designed to be left on all night are ultra safe. (non hook up)

Fan heater - assuming you mean via an inverter? It will kill your battery stone dead in just a few minutes.

Eberspacher - great choice, but very expensive, even second hand once they've been refurbished and installed.

Propex - cheaper at around £400, and I think if you buy from JK, you can spread the payments Internet free.

Webasto - cheaper, better! (I am biased  ) Last petrol Webasto just gone :D , missed out there.

"you can spread the payments Internet free" - preview before post maybe?

Volkstop are going to hook up my heating so its permanently on for the winter. Then in the summer i just have to disconnect the ducting. If it gets too hot, just open a window. Job done £60. Thank you very much. Warm and toasty driving this winter.

Just picked up the can, drove 30mins home. Nothing but cold air, called them up to see whats going on. They said they had permanently hooked up the heat exchangers. Id have to book it in again so they could look at the pipework and control unit in the dash. So... With the engine sponge i had fitted i payed £113 to end up with a van no better than when i took it. I give up with this van, i think its beaten me and my bank balence.

That is a shame, you would think they tested it before ringing you to collect it

And there was you extolling the virtues of Volkstop on your "Elite" engine thread.

Keep the faith brother, it will be worth it in the end and I am sure Volkstop will put whatever they have done wrong, right :)
