That welding a patch over a hole is just terrible, good job of naming and shaming bad work
somebody did that to my van once, and because the old rusty hole is sill there and the new metal unpainted it just rusts inside out

Surely something can be done about that? Legally? Trading Standards? That is absolutely dreadful!!!

Thanks for your kind words guys and girls, but this is the best bit! of the work they did, I tried to sort it out with them but they obviously saw me coming! I looked into taking them to court but he advise I was given was that it wasn't worth it!

Jesus Paul, I take my hat off to you for being able to put it behind you mate & wish you all the best in getting your van to how you want it. If your not going down the suing route, I'd be inclined to name and shame them on as many forums as poss. They simply do not deserve to be trading.

Really inspired by this. I thought you were going to put the speedo, rev counter etc into those holes and do away with the ugly plastic console.
I wonder if anyone has gone for that clean retro look, I'm thinking that could look nice.

yeah, poor people with their expensive buses getting covered in filler!!
Hey Bishop! I did think about doing what you said, but you would have to relocate the servo as to get the reservoir under the line of the dash! The smooth shiny look would be great.

Then fit a remote servo

yeah that's what I looked at, a lot of hassle for me to work out.
I have the bmw brake servo ready to go in so don't really wanna get too complicated, plus I do like the little pod thing on top of the dash, especially when u fit the new vw gauges into it!

well, killed my clutch so I need to replace that! will have to look and see what clutch Im using because of TSR conversion!
But before that managed to get myself some space!.
Its in an old Army depot!
hasn't been used for a while!
has a little space outside!
No power though so bought this really cheap, Its REALLY REALLY LOUD!! and really heavy!
Got some heavy duty racking!
Came with a load of 2 by 4! so made a little bench!
Bought this too, another cheap ebay!
As it is off the road decided to put the rear brakes on. Had some trouble getting the rear axel nut off!!
Got it of in the end with a borrowed truck breaker bar!
Dry fit!
