Is there a legal limit to the size of a satnav screen? Doubt it. Loads of cars have OEM dash-fitted multifunctional screens for satnav, reversing camera, handsfree info etc etc so using a laptop for navigation purposes should be legitimate?

our company make mounts for companies like the AA...we supply via our custmer...used to be tempus developments...now panasonic.
it might be worth contacting them IF enough people wanted one.....

every delivery driver that turns up at work has a dash mounted laptop, and i see loads of em driving about with them on (maps and order reconcilliation details)

I've just bought a proper docking station for my GoBook, so I can get it dash mounted. Had to import it from the US (a bit $$$ with the shipping and VAT on top) as there's nothing doing over this side of the pond.
Cool thing is that it came out of a State patrol car

Not a problem, old fruit. There's a couple of nice ones on the 'bay atm, hi-spec and upgraded with integral GPS and back-lit keyboard IIRC...but all stateside
