Flat side to the pulley gives anti-clockwise rotation unless you are running in reverse! Quite simple really.

Guys please help! I'm running an AAZ from a Passat in my bus and I'm almost certain the pump came with the engine. I'm having the same woes with overheating. By your reckoning my pump should be rotating anti-clockwise but I currently have the belt going around the outside so turning clockwise like lhd. Wondering if my pump is pushing the wrong way so not cooling the engine. Does anyone know what belt size I will need to switch it round? I will probably take the pump apart to be sure, but thought I could try the switch first to see if this is the cause of my problems.

cheers,

Dan :)

How did you reverse it? Were you able to use the same belt/tensioner etc?
