Thanks for the offer Paul but I really want to fit and forget. JK are doing the stainless pipe for £96 with free p+p. Anyone tried the JK one? Reviews seem ok.

I just checked my micrometers and my rough and ready digital callipers against the calibrated inch at work.

Not bad, my old ones i inherited from my Dad are a bit out.

I then made my own calibrated inch.

Spot on at 19*C. So i can re-check my tools any time.

:ok

I got calibration pieces with my micrometers, good job, they needed calibrating.

I too was impressed with the accuracy of my digital vernier caliper, not bad for a £15 Aldi special

What's the apprentice doing while you're doing their job

Yeah, we have a few un-calibrated digital callipers at work for rough checks and I was surprised how accurate they are too.
I wouldn't trust the apprentice to make a cake, never mind an accurate inch.

Got the exhaust strap today, cheers BBB, just like new
no it didn't take that long to arrive but I have been on Holiday for 2 weeks
800 mile round trip to Il de Re in France powerd by WBXlog engine, the pleasure of driving 400 miles in a day with an engine I rebuilt was well worth the effort.
:ok

I would not know how to adjust them but they have always been spot on, set of four 0-100mm
