Bessies had her first coat of rustoleum today and i got to say i am really pleased with the results so far

Lovely colour that. It was one I considered after a lot of pressure from my young son but I stuck with blue in the end.

Thats loking good. Thanks for the close up its really reassuring. Cant wait to see her in the flesh

Looks good! Is that RAL 3004 Purple Red? I started with that but then thought it was TOO red so changed to RAL3005 Wine Red. The 3004 looks good on a large area though (if that's what it is!)

No its not a RAL colour i had it mixed from the original code its called Marsala Red Just flattened back the drier i've been practising on and giving it a second coat later then Bessie will be ready for her second coat a week on monday

Just received my "paint your T25 for £50" dvd today.
Will have to start thinking about sorting the bodywork out now

169 pages on this subject so far. I'm new to this forum so have only just discovered this post.

I have to say that I'm very impressed with the results and I think I'll give this a go. Ive spray painted cellulose before but as my van will not fit into my garage the prospect of spray painting outside with the mess it makes does make this a very attractive technique.

When Ive used cellulose before I had to wait until the temperatures was above 15 degrees to avoid blooming issues. Is there a minimum temperature to apply the Rustoleum?

Spring time is recommended to prevent dampness and blooming. Buy the DVD its worth it just for all the info etc. Good luck.

I am new to this forum and would like some help if possible? I have a Crewcab that is almost primed and ready to paint i was going to have it done by a pro, but after reading this post (well upto page 44) i have changed my mind
i was wondering if anyone has rollered a pickup or crewcab i did read that the drop sides could be a problem?

Also i am trying to find the nearest RAL number to VW white i will keep reading the post past page 44 but if anyone knows it could save me some time
any other colour suggestions welcome

April/May best months to do outside providing its not wet. Low bug count and bearable to work outside. As said, all on the DVD. Saves reading....

As for crewcab, you could always spray. Anything against 2-pack? I say this since if you've already spent an age sorting body and sprayed primer, you might as well carry on. If you still want to roller, mind your window rubbers. If they're old it'll ruin your new paint. Fit new rubbers if they're showing signs of age.

I dont really want to spray 2 pack its not very nice stuff!

i like the idea of doing it myself nice and clean and wont stink out the workshop, its also a work van so we can touch it up when it gets damaged!
i think i might order some rattle cans for the drop sides (what do you think 3 cans per drop side?)
and roller the rest

i think the colour i need is Ld90 pastel white ( thats on page 57)

i was also considering a dark grey any thoughts on the colour

I think what he was saying is spraying the Rustoleum paint. You can thin it with white spirit so it won't be as nasty as 2pack paint.

For a kind of "lets have fun on a lazy Sunday" approach, take a look at Patrick's approach to painting. I've posted it before but in case you missed it:
