well this nis nwhere the odd end fits

i drilled a hole too many

easy cured ,each day i give thanks for not being a woodbutcher...............
yes again, it shows they can do very good work but then cut a corner (no pun) like this, when ive hammered the bottoms out a bit when its welded to the front etc i shall lead these infills so they keep good as they are prone to knocks, they do as you know usually rot a bit further up on the fold so may just strip both sides as im sure there will be rot hidden in there

Must have just read it the wrong way, i'm tired ive been building ikea units and sawing up old wardrobes all day

Well. ah kindling for the new stove...................
so

usual spat problem , sheared screws and odd ones so a steady evening job drilling and tapping out,plus bath sealnt beads all over
after lots of hurried calls around this showed up

ahhh

the correct item
so a coat of stripper to both sides as im not confident of whats under

hmm, just need to remove the bit of filler to confirm whats what

but

closer

brazed i think in the seam, certainly the wiper spinndle on this side had been off whereas the other one was solid almost seized, it looks like i will be pulling the dash out/back so will confirm what i find in there ref welding this and other repairs
otherside is ok

here i have scraped it with a bearing scraper, as i dont like a grinder here as it removes too much metal and destroys signs of whats been done before, it has been painted with the screen out and also had a blow with it in , anyhows it just scraped off and these are pin holes,

I'll go with what you think, i've had a look around.. All the LHD panels are copies. Custom and commercial do a range called correct fit, do you have any knowledge?

You'll see on each panel there is a 'correct fit' icon, click that and it says they fit with no faffing.
Still can't get over the rust on that front panel! Crazy..

Well an interesting few days laid up but back at it now,this is first clue

me thinks a new s/h one is required as its not really fixed to owt
so we now have this situation, a repaint expands into other areas

what is this stuff ?

i use this drill for the spots,slow speed electronic to 550rpm and 510watts,i like slow speed with out spinning the cutting face up .works for me anyhow

but
now you know how we often see rot on the bottom of the upper panel in the middle well

and

this is the tell tale leakage of water past the jets, they only cost about £7 so fit new, also do not fit the cheaper pattern ones , they dont look the same and they are made of the wrong material and are not pliant, sadly many suppliers do not know this or so they claim as i have sent several "genuine" ones back.
anyhows once the water gets running down here we meet

note the sealant at the ends, well this makes sure the water builds up in the centre over the years and there is no rustproofing here and no paint ( i will post up a pick of the relevant part tomoz)
so im going to post this as my line keeps dropping and im not redoing it, then carry on with the next bit
