Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a keep it original type of guy.

to me its like painting a brick house
my brick house is 150 years old and looks classically good, if I were to paint it, it would look crappy in a couple of years and I'd need to paint it again.
you can't unpaint it.

can't be arsed painting it TBH.
No-one but me is going to see it at least for a few years.

Serious question though, when running in you're supposed to avoid holding constant revs for long periods, so how do you bleed the coolant?
Last time I did that it involved holding the engine at 2k revs for about 20 mins. If youlet the revs drop it bubbles back and spits out the coolant you just put in.

bleeding coolant is the most overated topic imo
fill it as much as you can top it in the first few minuites of running then put the cap on and just drive it.

top up later when cold.

I have always bled the coolant, nose down so that the coolant tank is above radiator top, leave cap off, bleed radiator and then top up and close cap, with the coolant hot and heater circuit open, has worked for me and is easy single handed

Took the afternoon off in the vague hope that my sealants might arrive. No such luck but my barrel from 300CE arrived. So i gave it a quick hone and checked it's bore. Spot on the same as my others at 94.11mm. Cheers mate. Thats me all set for assembly. New rings on and pistons in barrels ready to go.



I also measured my oil pump body- 69.93mm and it's hole in the case- 69.97mm. Sounds like it's going to be nice and snug. Endfloat is zero one side and 0.05 the other so hopefully a smear of curil-t and no gasket will give the cover a snug fit too.

bolt the pump and cover together with m8 bolts and no gasket and check it turns freely.

you cant check this in the engine.
