Just don't paint it pink/purple this time

Sorry to but in but I am trying to find out my campers original paint code. It has had a horrific paint job on top of the original and I would like to get it back to old colour before previous owner splattered it lol

From what I can tell it states L90O but I cannot seem to find anywhere referencing that as a proper code, only the L90 part.

Could it be L90D?

Likely since the 'D' has no line through it

You can get fairly close with the lighter Rustoleum shades. If you want exact you'll pay for it and way beyond the £50 budget premise however Avenue Coatings will make it up for you if you need exact.

This type2 is L90D -its where 'white' borders into dove grey really.

How many days/weeks do you need before you can put grilles, lights, bumpers back on?

Also how lomg before it skins over and how long until hardened?

One more thing, how long before you can flat a section, or stonechipped bit back and build up with another layer?

Next day usually although 8 hours should be enough.

Couple of months to really harden, despite hype. If you have weeks of baking sun - sooner. Rustoleum say 14 days at the outside.

I've suggested 3 weeks minimum. If when you try to flat its making no impression - you are doing it too soon.

got genevieve painted on the outside first coat done at least n tidied grills up with satin black rattle can, quite pleased with results even tho i know i rushed the prep on some of the panels, put it puts a grin on my face.
is certainly true tho, for the finish, you get what you put in

hey Cyrus, yup thats the one, its a really nice yellow, i thought it was gonna be brighter more "AA" yellow but its more lemony when its on, lovin it.
i painted it over marsala red so its gonna need two coats to get rid of all the "dark" patches showing through. but if u are after a yellow would thourally recommend this one

Now its summer and the seams are getting rustier by the day I've migrated back to this post...

Just spotted the DVD which I will be purchasing very soon. I just had a question as a body work novice. I don't usually get a lot of consecutive evenings/weekends to work on my van so if I was to start preping the van whats the longest time I could leave the van in a prepped/semi-prepped state? I was thinking of getting a cover for the winter so would it be advisable to get it before I start and then cover it up when I'm finished working on it?

I suppose it depends whether you are exposing bare metal. Not a good idea to leave it like that for more than a few hours.

Also. if you're tight for time, you can target one or two panels with the roller ENSURING the roller is almost dry when you run on to the next unpainted areas. That way its much easier to paint the next panel as there will be no hard lines. Basically you feather off on to adjacent panels.

OR

Mask off the panel/s next to the one your working on and roll upto the masking tape
