Just started to work out how much money I need to get there and back - a question for the seasoned travellers, will we be travelling on 'toll' roads and any idea how much that will be??

Absolutely no tolls at all :D
Just decent roads that actually get you to places.

No joy on stop over yet Doug,
However there is a good cheap fuel stop enroute - about 30miles from Dunkirke

Think it is junction 1 Veurne (Belgium), called the pitstop, you need to travel into Veurne and keep the canal on your left hand side slowly otherwise you will go past it.
Neil, according to Sharon's conversation with norfolkline you can board the earlier ferry without charge providing there is room on there. Then you would be 2hours behind.

well worth going to luxemburg for cheap fuel all the truckers buy it there cheaper than belgium and worth making the detour just bring a few jerrycans think it was about 10-20cents cheaper per litre last year

Agree that Luxembourg is a good place for fuel and is a truly lovely place to visit.
Trouble is, it is well out of the way and we can all only really carry 70 litres max in the tanks and for the saving of 15 quid and a limited time.
Actually luxembourg would be really nice but on the time scale most of has we can't realistically visit there on this trip. Good line of thought.

Has your adac book shown any stopover points? (Dortmund area think A1 side)

but two gerry cans hold 10 gallons (90 l) might bring more :) though we will probably have the time, also for you smokers Belgium sell the cheapest tobacco and Holland for cheapest smokes as was told by a cigarette smuggler (in an aires) don't ask must attract dodgy characters :)
sorry been a bit slack on the ADAC thing been up to my ears of late will try and check it out over the next couple of days

Yes that link is a really juicy one, I have looked at that one previously. The trouble, I think is that we are now 15 vans+ convoy with a specific route and the stellplatz that are available enroute cannot accomodate all of us.
However, I do have a lead but details do need to be confirmed... However I am still looking so anymore info will be good.

Sharon
PS
I do hope all of the men-folk in the convoy have developed a list of useful spares between them! Oh and you all have cbs don't YOU?
