Found some seal trim which is as original. Just think this looks a neater finish than just sealer. Will seal joint first though before inserting trim.

how are you going to seal it and still add the trim under the roof ? and bear in mind that the part of the trim /seal that is on the out side will catch the water and it will work its way under the hitop unless you seal this bit too, keep pickies of it please

Mike
Will be applying sealer between fibre glass hitop roof and steel roof then squeeze in seal before it goes off.
Seal is a snug fit over fibre glass so should think this will work okay.
Have had the seals cut to length and fitted for the last couple of weeks without sealer. When checked underneath seal it has stayed dry during wet spells.
Seal will need some extra adhesion as at the moment the end sections keep popping out due to the shape of hitop roof.
Will post photos when fitted.

I vaguely remember being told to use automotive silicone. rahther than any old type 'cos the ordinary type can cause corrosion. I think it was on this site I heard it.

Cannot believe it is October since last post on this restoration?
Have now completed the final jobs which included fitting a set of curtains and sealing the hard top at front & rear.
Will post photos when I can remember how to log onto imageshack.
Now it is complete the van has found a new home in Richmond with Jason, Hanna & young daughter who has named the van poppy.
New owners got in touch through a work friend of Mark. Van was viewed early March and deal sorted and van collected on 16th March.
Typical the weekend van collected, my carb give up so had to go to the White Swan in my daughters tent.
