I bought a roll from http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; when I did mine the other year, seems to work and very nice to fit, also not very expensive.

Mickyfin wrote:Spanking mate. How did you get that rear side vented window cover gloss? Mine are matt textured.

Shamefully I can't remember if they are plastic or metal.

If they are plastic of any sort or a matt texture metal you can use a product like this http://www.valetpro.co.uk/Products/Exte ... Trim-Glitz. This is a pro detailing product rather than the "Back to Black" Car Plan aerosols and the like which just squirt loads of silicone on the panel.

Clean the panel first (50% diluted isopropanol or panel wipe) then when dry put on very sparingly with a clean non lint cloth. Leave to dry and buff if required.

Will need redoing occasionaly but lasts quite well (Tip, don't wash your van with washing up liquid as the strong detergents strip any wax or finishing product off very quickly :ok )

Back over to you Mike

BTW those panel gaps are soooooo straight i am beggining to think you are obessive :rollin

Ahh, are you a member of that site ,err detailing world or something its called :rofl good advice there..

They are plastic and appear to be moulded gloss black and to the front edge there is a lightly perforated area to help break the black to glass.
Ill add a picky if it comes out in a minute.

Gaps, theres oithing obsesive about them  just that it only takes a little effort to get them to look right, ok sometimes it takes a few mods but usually unless something is bent then they can be aligned, you just have to understand where its wrong and what sequence of adjustment will correct it, or get it as near as is possible, end of the day , you have to ask does it look about right and if yes then its sorted,
it takes more effort to fit the bliddy big heavy (but nice)westie towbar.

oh and micky as you must have a pair, they are moulded in with the window maybe if yours are matt, then it was an option or a previous owner has been at them?

Cheers, having had a look, they look stock items, so one would assume the option was not asked for.

I have just had a call with a mate and there are two types, one like the atlantic with the venting holes in it and gloss black and the other ,presumably yours, that has no vent and would be matt.
if that makes sense

Well, a good afternoon. I have highlighted the fixing points for the wardrobe ,the curtain wire can be accessed after fitting
Image
there are 4 on the roof, and one bolts through the top box into the wardrobe,
Image
all fitted now
Image
heavy old towbar fitted, cardboard is just to protect the backpanal whilst fitting,
Image
I have soldered the socket wires as I dont have a crimper as per vw's and this is better than just twisting the ends
Image
No reason for these pickies from an odd angle but anyhow this is the n/side rear 1/4 most of which after dynax will be hidden from view
Image
same on O/side, this is the new factory arch :D

thats about it for the day

Detailing World is the forum, lots of really useful info, also started doing a bit of detailing myself, sort of extending my learnings around paint and panels :)

Just about to update Gunther's post as well.....
