Not just discussion, actual practice.
As much as I would like having a low tank fuel light, as an LPG user, it would be on, constantly.
But, the OMVL fuel switch has an led indicator.
I have no idea what it bases the level on, But it does fluctuate with cornering, so I'll assume it's the actual liquid level in the pressurised tank.

Would this be an indication of another resistance based guage?
Yes.

A longer answer might be that the float inside the tank operates both the 80% fill shut-off valve and a rotary magnet. Different types of sender can be attached externally that are influenced by the movement of the magnet. The most common types are the AEB standard (type 1050, 1051) and the 0-90 ohm. The push button AEB switch can be programmed to interpret and display readings from any of them.

Hi there,
newcomer here....

CJH - great idea about the low fuel indicator - tried to send an email to You but failed, so i wish to ask here - is this PCB of Yours available for purchase?
I am modifying the instrument cluster by installing Porsche 924 speedometer/controls onto VW T3.
I managed to convert basically all functions (even got working the "buzzer of doom") except the low fuel indicator light, since it's originally not existing in the T3 (T25).

The PCB would save my life here :)

Thanks for reply !

CJH hasn't posted anything for a year or two if I recall.
So you might not get a reply
