The AGG oil pump has a plastic baffle round the oil pickup. This fouls the JX sump. Do people trim the baffle or discard it?

Someone should design a proper trapdoor sump baffle for 52* inline engines...

No excuse not to have one on a syncro imo... oil control looks bad enough on the level!

Problem - AGG pulleys and belts aren't playing together nicely.
I can't see how to mount the alternator so its belt doesn't foul the water pump, and this doesn't even include how to mount the PAS pump with its belt from the outer pulley shared with waterpump.
AGG was an aircon model, so took off aircon specific alternator bracket and alternator and swapped in non-aircon parts.

Somewhat gladly I've put this project on hold, as it was getting me down a little.
Moving house has overtaken events. An opportunity to move into the countryside presented itself which we didn't want to miss out on.
New place has a garage with adjacent flat tarmac driveway, so I'm looking forward to working on the van there. Van will still be outside but at least the tools and man cave will be now inside.
Signing off until 2016, when this restarts with renewed vigour.

Good luck with the house move, Patrick. Hope all goes well and easy.

Let me know if you want some assistance when you start again. I could perhaps bring mine along as an example of how things can go - although mine doesn't have PAS. I think Jason is correct in that there must be a 'PAS but no A/C' set up available. Hopefully, it includes the low mount alternator, too.

Ditto!

Plus, I think you may find this page may help with your pulley/belt conundrum:

http://www.partsbase.org/vw/golf-go-eu- ... f-v-belts/

The Golf AGG setup for PAS-but-no-AC is at the top right.

Hello Patrick,

I had the same problem since I started with an Air-con golf.
The pulley is either 028121031K or 028121031E
I will check when I get home if I still have the lable.

But I think its the K version.

You also need a new belts for the PAS and Alternator/waterpump.

Look att this link it pretty much sums it up.
