ah steve its not a problem , I dont know what norfolk geese have to do with it and presuming others would is also poor manners but as said there is a pencil problem.
initially you said the tailgate is supported on the catch any way, your error was pointed out and later you backtrack on this ,so you seem to know all about it so are beyond practical help
it sounds like an abortion and maybe is one , and if somebody asks me for an opinion on anything, but especially van construction etc you will get one answer, you may not like the answer but you will get it rather than what you may want to hear, im now out of this thread as is completely meaningless and is going nowhere

#oh and as a footnote ,i dont know what other forums you frequent but on here we have a few folk who are dyslexic and innumerate, so we cut slack and dont go down that road with spelling and the like, please take that as friendly advice

Just so a tired old man completely understands...

You want to fit a second spare wheel, using a folded stainless splitty accessory, bolted to the tailgate...

I see tears ahead...

A folding frame was developed for good reasons, such as.... being able to use the tailgate.....

If you really need a 2nd spare, (something I am considering carefully for a very long voyage), what about on the roof at the front, or even front mounted on a bumper cradle.

I think the splitty mount, ( I used to have one) rather relies on the tyre pushing against the body, and the wheel is a bit different to the T25.

PCD for the mounting bolts ( Pitch circle diameter) ??

Do you really need a spare? When was the last time you had one flat, let alone two? Have one, get it fixed/replaced locally, on your way again - you're not going to lug a flat about just to take it home to get it sorted by your friendly local chappy.

Not an option for us high-top types, of course.

Might be a goer for air-cooled, but it'd probably interfere with airflow to the rad too much for watercooled.

I'd guess that the main reason for relocating the spare would be to use the original space for an LPG tank.
