Armed with a beeping meter I've ascertained that the TPS works in as much as it beeps at rest and as you apply a small movement then stops beeping when you open the throttle then beeps again at full throttle.

Temp sensor shows the right resistance according to the graph when cold and when hot so I think I can rule those two culprits out.

Next step in the learning curve, (and the ongoing mission to get back home to spain and my kids) bought a timing light from amazon so aim to check what it actually is as tick over is lumpy and burbly and smelling a bit rich when it warms up enough to run on its own.

Any one know what the ignition timing for a newish (30000 miles) factory replacement 2.1 dj engine with gas conversion should be? Bentleys seems to say 5 degrees others say 10 degrees, maybe the gas makes a difference if I ever dare switch over again..!

The adventure continues......

10 degs if using 98ron fuel and 5 degs for unleaded, you should have the factory mark at 10degs btdc and unleaded (home made) mark halfway between btdc and tdc
