Caravan spares shop sell Propane/Butane gas pipe.
They will also tell you when it has to be renewed.


The regulator will have to be changed. for propane.

I do this kind of work and would rather source the gear myself. If you really want to get the bits yourself, in the above link you can get 8mm copper in a reel for pretty cheap. The link you posted for the isolation valves are good, and is probably what I would fit. Another option is to get a 8mm isolation valve and fit it in the pipe to the propex. As for running a longer rubber pipe to the new cylinder location, will work fine but you should really extend the copper pipe and terminate it near the cylinder, then use a short length of rubber flexi to connect to the cylinder.

in my 86 sleeper the gas locker was where the potty lives, the pipe to the three taps is copper. The gas pipe was only 12 ins long, now the bottle is under the bed it was gas pipe, but I am coppering it as far as I can

Forgot to say, rubber hose is the same for propane/butane. Use propane though, butane won't work well in cold weather, just when you need it

OK thanks guys, I will get the gas fitter to extend the copper pipe to the area under the bed and use a short rubber pipe to connect to the bottle. Maybe I should get a new piece of pipe nevertheless as I don't know how old the existing one is.

Oh I have one last question (honest guv). There is already a sink hole in the cupboard where the heater is going but I suppose I should create a new sink hold in the bed area where the bottles are going? Any tips on that front? How large should it be? Should I protect the floor in any way to avoid rust etc?

3 inch hole and just paint it thickly with some tar bitumen or hammerite

OK Propex has been fitted. The pipework has been re-routed to under the bed where I now keep the bottles. Gonna use up the old blue camping gas bottles and then switch to propane.

Just need to cut a 3" sink hole and I think it's good to go.

Should I try to make the area under the bed a bit more air-tight (with the exception of the sink hole obviously) or is a sink hole all that is needed? The cupboard where the bottles used to be was pretty much air-tight (draft-excluders on the door, cupboard lined with plastic and joints sealed with some kind of mastic).

Probably won't be that easy to make the area under the bed airtight but I might be able to box the bottles in to some extent.
As gas is heavier than air I'm guessing that might be over-kill?
