Dont really know what i am talking about but can you not swivel the seat 90 degrees and the slide it backwards out the cab door? I am not posh enough to have a westie :(

Thanks for everyone's help- ended up looking at it again with a fresh head and realised that I could just wiggle it out of the box by holding up the metal bar that controls the seat sliding ( this was overlapping the battery by 2cms). It's was really tight but managed it in the end.

Back on the road again woohoo!
