I've got this to look forward when I change the clutch (probably in March).

You'll find the motivation to do it on the back of the sticky label of the MS grease pack :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

All the T25 who passed through this summer had CV joint problems.

Moral, Fix, check, Then go on holiday, (with splined socket in tool kit)

There have been a lot of suggestions about what might be wrong. It could be a cv problem but I think it unlikely. If it is he will fix it for free as your cv joints were only fitted a couple of months ago (I know cos I saw those shiny new bits being fitted). Once Mike has given it the once over he can tell you what the problem actually is. In a way I hope it is just loose cv bolts and not something else that needs replacing. Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks Pat, I'm hoping it is the CVs.

Just need to work out how to get the van to Mike. Hoping I can just call breakdown as I've got homestart even tho I was recovered home on new years day.

I keep a fixed towing bar in the back of mine for things like this. Its real useful if anyone local needs a tow to a garage and is a whole lot simpler than a tow rope. LIDL have them in now and again and they're only about 12.99. In fact, it was broken bolts on a CV joint that prompted me to get one. :D Now I just use it for towing friends in trouble.

Result!! They're treating it as an onward relay due to it being late on a bank holiday!!

Should know more later today when Mike's had a chance to look at it.

Finger's x'd for something simple and cheap :-)

All good, the van is back :-)

It was the offside CV and Mike has fixed that one with additional washers, they didn't come in the kit apparently. He has also put washers on the other three as well.

He charged me £50 and I am happy with that.

Give it a good drive and then check for tightness.

And then do it again at 500 km, and then before you go on your Euro trip. :)

Why not invest in a the tool to DIY...

was 99.999% sure thats what it'd be.

Consider swapping those bolts for splined ones. You get way more purchase on a splined bolt over the allen type.
