Had a measure today and decided not to do it with adaptors. I think they would be to long, and dont like the idea of the weight of the wheel being on those alone. Ive still not had a reply from Syncronutz, so its going to get the chop.

What else is the weight of the wheel going to be on? The wheel shouldn't be touching anything else when its bolted up.

Have not had time to look at emails this week. These carriers are made to fit most rims that fit the syncro. Unfortunately ,only twice to date a rim centre bore
has been to small. We recommend that either you get your rims bored out or fit a smaller diameter tube. Better to bore out the rims though.

the center piece is not essential as in most cases its an no interferance fit anyway...as for adapters i thibght the "moment" was a bit great and dident want that lump protruding that far out ,you might run the chances of having ur nice alloy wheel spat out the chuck and dissfugured so...i opted for the hand reamer...like a hot knife through butter

I agree, but the issue is that the whole weight of the wheel would be on the three elongated stud holders. If you have a look at the wheel carrier mods carried out on the Tiger bus, I think thats a much better solution. And certainly better than boring out the centre 'face' of the alloy. But thats just my opinion.

The tigerbus carriers are not made by syncro nutz but a direct! copy made of ours made by Gunzel! It is so nice to see other T3 people making direct copies of peoples products. This is not the first product he has copied either. And he charges more for them.

When changing a wheel you lift it first up to the carrier and it sits on the center bore allowing you to rest before tightening ones nuts It also allows the padlocking of the wheel onto the carrier. But as you say not essential item, but one that is nice to have.

The Tigerbus carrier mods add weight to the carrier and puts the weight of the wheel further out from its mounting points, none of which is good. Adding 3 little stud extensions adding just a few ounces in weight and keeping the weight closer to the mounting points is much more sound. Mine have been like that since I bought it and have had no issues at all.

Anyway if you do it the Tigerbus way, where will you keep your really cool spare fuel can?
